GYROstream launches B2B digital distribution platform DistroDirect

By Emmanuel Legrand

Australian independent digital distributor GYROstream is launching music distribution platform DistroDirect as a white label B2B (Business to Business) and SaaS (Software as a Service) solution.

The company said DistroDirect will allow "tens of thousands of music businesses, labels and industry professionals globally the possibility to launch their very own automated, online distribution platform." So far, over 150 music businesses in 21 markets have opened their own services since DistroDirect's beta launch in January 2021.

DistroDirect provides a fully customisable and automated distribution platform, delivering music to over 100 DSPs globally including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer, TikTok and more. "With an emphasis on premium customer support for both the distributor and artist, DistroDirect's ease of use and a dedicated team prioritises building strong artist relationships – not just a simple data delivery service," said the company in a statement.

Set pricing and royalty rates

The service provides pricing flexibility with each distributor setting their own pricing and royalty rate. They can also customise their website via a dedicated admin panel.

Artists can create an account, log in to their dashboard and manage their own assets, uploads and royalty withdrawals.

DistroDirect offers options such as collaborator split payments, integration of Spotify and Apple Music analytics, extensive reporting, and monthly statements.

Help diversify revenue streams

"We saw a lot of music businesses doing it tough – many are still – with the loss of revenue across the board so we wanted to create something that could help them diversify their revenue streams, further automate and scale their current distribution processes and help them have greater control over their artists end to end product deliveries, said DistroDirect CEO Andy Irvine (pictured, below).

He added: "We've already onboarded so many like-minded labels, studios and music-related start-ups who are representing some great artists. Our aim is to empower more industry professionals and establish boutique distribution in every music market around the world."
