ADAMI members have approved reforms proposed by the French neighbouring rights organisation for performers during its extraordinary and ordinary General Assemblies.
With more than 96% of the votes, members approved the reform of the statutes and the general regulations, which were required by the implementation of the statutory reforms of December 2017 and June 2018.
The organisation has engaged in vast reforms to focus more on becoming a "service society," streamlining its governance system and improving efficiencies. This statutory reform will see the creation of an ethics committee which supplements the existing transparency mechanisms within the organisation.
Emerging strengthened from the pandemic
During the AGM, members approved by more than 95% of the votes the accounts and the budgetary decisions for the year 2020. During 2020, rights collected amounted to €79 million, while €63m was distributed to members, including €8.5m in exceptional payments in May and June in addition to the usual distribution.
ADAMI said that despite the pandemic, the level of financial aid for artistic projects has been steady with €13.5m distributed to more than 1,000 artistic projects, operations and partnerships. In addition, 1,032 artists were able to benefit from emergency aid for a total amount of nearly €1.5m.
"ADAMI has emerged strengthened from these ordeals and is moving forward in the direction of innovation, progress and solidarity," said actress Anne Bouvier, Chair of ADAMI's Board of Directors. "The coming year is one of recovery that we will support with all our might."
