Spotify launches a new digital platform to inform songwriters and publishers

By Emmanuel Legrand

Spotify has launched Noteable, described as a "new global home for songwriters, producers, and publishers," to learn "about everything Spotify has to offer, find new opportunities, and collaborate with each other."

The service includes a new website, an email newsletter (The Beat Drop), as well as communication via Instagram and Twitter to propagate updates on relevant products and services, new programmes or video resources, or just possibilities to connect.

The Noteable website will feature information on Spotify Publishing AnalyticsSpotify for ArtistsSongwriter Pages, the newly-launched Songwriters Hub, or Sound Better. Later this year, Spotify also plans to introduce a new series for students and emerging songwriters and producers, titled 'How I Started, How It’s Going'.

A specific space for publishing

"So whether you’re a publisher, a brand new songwriter, producer, or have numerous hits under your belt, we look forward to working with you, bringing these resources and opportunities into a new central home and expanding to new regions around the world throughout the year," said the company.

“It’s all the things we’ve been doing: collectively we’ve had more and more products, tools, ways of interacting with us, opportunities for songwriters, producers and publishers. All those different things. We need a thread to run through them, and have a home and a destination where people can access information about it,” Jules Parker, Spotify’s global head of songwriter and publishing relations, told Music Ally.  “It’s a specific space for the publishing side of the industry, but deeply interconnected with everything we’re doing at Spotify.”

Currently available in English, Spotify said it has plans to localise the Noteable site’s content into 18 languages over the next year.
