Concord Chief Publishing Executive Jim Selby (pictured, below) and John Singer, Chairman of Spirit Music Group, have joined the Board of Directors of the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA), following the organisation's AGM on June 9. They will serve for a two-year term. The Board consists of Irwin Robinson (Chairman, The Richmond Group), Jody Gerson (Universal Music Publishing Group), Keith Hauprich (BMG), Laurent Hubert (Kobalt), Carianne Marshall (Warner Chappell), Jon Platt (Sony Music Publishing), Marti Cuevas (Mayimba Music), Neil Gillis (Round Hill Music), Justin Kalifowitz (Downtown Music Holdings), Golnar Khosrowshahi (Reservoir), Jody Klein (ABKCO), Leeds Levy (Leeds Music), Kenny MacPherson (Hipgnosis Songs), Chip McLean (Disney Music Group), Mike  Molinar (Big Machine Music), Ralph Peer II (peermusic), and songwriters LizRose and Ross Golan.
 

Diana Pfiel has been appointed VP of research and development at digital rights technology firm Pex. Pfiel, who joins from Honey by PayPal, will lead Pex’s machine learning team and work across the organisation to identify customer’s business needs and translate them into real, well-engineered solutions. 

Sandi Spika Borchetta has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Creative at Nashville-based Big Machine Label Group (BMLG), a role in which she will continue to oversee all visual elements – including film, music videos, live performances, photography, design and graphics – for BMLG's imprints and brands. Spika Borchetta, whose husband is BMLG President/CEO Scott Borchetta, has been with the company since its launch in 2005. 


EUROPE

Former PRS for Music and ICE Services executive Ella Kirby has joined short-video platform TikTok as Head of Music Publishing Licensing & Partnerships, EMEA. She joins from Facebook where she was Music Publishing Business Development Lead for EMEA.

Angelique Pattikawa-Thenu has been appointed Vice President, A&R at Reliant Music Europe, and will be overseeing the newly-established European operation of Vancouver-based Reliant Music in Amsterdam. She worked previously for Spinnin’ Records and peermusic Holland

UK

Frances Moore, Chief Executive of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Moore joins the Members of the Order of the British Empire and is recognised for her services to the music industry. “I am really pleased that the role of the recording industry and its contribution to our culture and economy has been recognised and honoured in this way,” said Moore.
