SyncFloor raises fund as music licensing platform builds new innovative tools

By Emmanuel Legrand

Music licensing and discovery platform SyncFloor has launched a new funding round, led by previous investors Ascend.vc and Arnold Venture Group. Financial details of the round were not disclosed. The music marketplace for sync discovery and licensing said the funding "will help the company continue to build its offerings and brand in a space in need of technological and licensing innovation."

"We believe SyncFloor has the potential to transform this sector of the music industry, and we're excited to continue to support them on their journey," says Kirby Winfield, Founding General Partner of Ascend.vc.

SyncFloor commercially launched its online platform SyncFloor.com earlier this year. The music discovery and licensing hub provides tracks for licensing from SyncFloor’s 53 catalogue partners. SyncFloor also designs customised online sync stores for partners, such independent distributors TuneCore and Create Music Group, and international labels such as JioSaavn Artist Originals, Maven Records, and Motor Music). SyncFloor also launched SongsForPodcasters.com earlier this year to tap into the market of music licensing for podcasts.

“We connect creatives to the music they love to enhance the stories they tell,” explained SyncFloor co-founder and CEO Kirt Debique. “Empowering production professionals to easily discover the beautiful and diverse content available from the commercial independent music sector, we do our part to make a better media industry and democratise access to opportunity. We raised this additional funding to further our vision, and we're excited we were able to garner this kind of support."
