Merlin signs licensing deal with Feed Media Group's B2B platform for start-ups Adaptr

B2B music licensing subscription service Feed Media Group has signed a music licensing deal for its Adaptr platform with Merlin, the digital music licensing agency for the independent music sector. 

  Feed Media said the agreement will provide Adaptr, a subscription-based platform designed for start-ups to use music, with access to a wide catalogue of licensed music from Merlin member labels, distributors, and their artists. 



  Under the terms of the new agreement, record labels, distributors, and other rights holders within Merlin’s global membership can make their music available via Adaptr with immediate effect. Adaptr also has licensing deals in place with other record labels, distributors, and publishers around the world. 

Cutting edge of technology

  "We are thrilled that Adaptr clients will now have access to some of the best independent music in the world via our new deal with Merlin," said Bryn Boughton, VP of Music for Feed Media Group. "In so many cases independent music is perfectly suited for our clients, who are on the cutting edge of technology."  

  Jeremy Sirota, CEO of Merlin, added: "The deal with Adaptr is an innovative opportunity for Merlin to expand our member’s reach across sectors and services while giving early-stage startups access to diverse music from around the world."   

    Adaptr is tailored for start-ups that have raised less than $7.5 Million and earned less than $4.5 Million in revenue. For Charlie Lexton (pictured, below), COO of Merlin, Adatpr "solves a key problem our industry faces – ensuring that innovators have easy access to properly licensed music for their startups."

Receive proper licensing fees

  Feed Media Group's Feed.FM is a B2B platform that helps brands leverage music to connect with their customers. Feed Media Group’s proprietary streaming platform delivers pre-cleared music complete with user analytics, payments to rights holders, and legal indemnification for our customers. 

  Merlin members account for about 15% of the world's recorded music with content from Armada Music, AVL Group (including CD Baby, DashGo and FUGA), BecauseBeggars Group, Cinq Music Group, Dim Mak, DistroKid, Domino, Entertainment One, Epitaph Records, Kontor New Media, Mushroom Music, Ninja Tune, [PIAS], Pony Canyon, Secret City, Secretly, Sub Pop, Ultra Records, Vydia, among others.
